A "little behind"?-A Belated Birthday Card

This is an idea I found in a local scrapbooking store and thought "I can finally use this!"  Honestly, I miss birthdays more often than I like, but I'm really trying to make it better in 2011!

I used a heart shape that I cut out using the cricut, inverted it and then cut off the pointy end...see?  To make the bloomers (what am I?  from the 1920's??) I traced the heart onto the paper, then went back and trimmed them to fit.  I attached the lace using the ATG gun.  The bloomers, or underwear, or whatever are paper from the Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby) and the lace I picked up a long time ago from a thrift store.  The letters, of course, are from the cricut (Lyrical letters...it's the only letter cartridge I have!!).  So...voila!  Not too hard to make and I think it will get a good laugh :)  Happy Crafting!

Valentine's Day Toilet Paper Mini

This was my first attempt at a TP mini album.  I tried to try new things with this challenge...which was a little challenging, but that was the point!  I liked how this turned out overall, but I really had a tough time with the "creative juices"!  I guess I was just really tired!

Challenge complete! Phewww....

It's been a while!  I managed to get Marion Smith's 31 day - 31 goal challenge done!  It wasn't easy, but I did have fun trying to keep up!  Some of the gals were on the ball and posted every single day...that wasn't me though.  I had a few days where I had to post several videos because of this or that going on.   You know how life goes.  I'm gonna post a few videos that I did, so you can see what I've been up to!  Happy Crafting!!

My Funny Valentine

So, while I've been scrapbooking for awhile, I have yet to do a lot of "altered things".  This year, I'm really going to try out a few different altered things and see what I like!  The journal was so much fun, so I'm definitely going to be doing another, bigger one soon.

I picked up one of the $1 frames for Valentines Day at Michael's and tried my hand at jazzing up a frame!  Instead of red as the overall color, I chose shades of pink (of course!) and just had some fun.

the plan is to put a picture of my husband in here doing one of his famous 'faces'

a little too much "distressing" with the sandpaper under the word 'funny'--oh well!

heart brads through the ribbon and a little "love potion" bottle :)
I did get a little too aggressive with the sanding, but I'm probably the only one who will notice right away.  I try not to stress myself out too much over stuff like that, but it seems I can't do any project without griping a little about this or that.  That's another goal of mine:  don't sweat over the small stuff!  I love this hobby, but it should be FUN, right?  So, have fun and enjoy!!

My first altered journal!

Still keeping up (barely) with the 31 day / 31 goal challenge!  So, I finally did an "altered journal".  That said, it's the tiniest one I could find.  Start small, I always say!  I think it turned out alright...just some finishing touches and I think I'll be satisfied.  I don't want it to be too "fussy" since I want to actually keep this one in my purse. Let me know what you think. Have YOU done an altered journal? Enjoy!

Cricut Clearance!!

You would never believe what I found at the local Michael's!  Tucked away in a random aisle in the scrapbooking department, a small selection of cricut cartridges....for $9.99!!  I was beside myself.  Stunned!  There was the "paisley", "old west", "sweet treats", "pooh and friends" and a couple alphabet ones.  I picked up "lyrical letters"....but I may have to go back!  If you have a store near you, run down there NOW!!!

The Challenge....dun, dun, DUNNNN!!!

So, I've decided to join Marion Smith and some fellow youtube friends in a 31-day/31-goal challenge.  The idea is that we make a small video every day and accomplish a goal.  It could be crafty related or anything that we really need/want to get done.  So, far...I'm keeping up okay!  Here's the first video.  If you want to join the challenge, go to youtube and go to Marion's (apieceofcraftdotcom) youtube page.  I'll check in every so often and post the videos here during the challenge, as well as post some other stuff I'm working on.
